The Enduring Promise

“The Lord said… “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.””
Genesis 8:21a and 22 New International Version
God’s promises never fail. The picture of new daffodils this spring are another confirmation of God’s promise that the seasons will never cease as long as the earth endures.
God keeps His promises. The farmer and the gardener depend on God’s promises that He will continue to give new life every spring, that there will be seedtime and harvest, summer and winter.
God’s promises are especially seen in the sending of His Son. Man had fallen into sin. Death was his fate, but God promised to send His Son to save the world. And God did.
God’s promises cost Him. Sending His Son to save the world meant suffering and death on a cross. Jesus Christ was the Sacrifice that took away our sins and iniquities.
God’s promises bring life. Jesus not only died upon the cross to save us from our sins, but He rose on the third day. And His resurrection gives me and all believers eternal life in Him.
God’s promises are for you. The Lord Jesus Christ offered Himself upon the cross that you might be saved. All those who believe in Jesus receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life in His name.
Trust in God’s promises!
Thank you, Lord, that you always keep Your promises. Thank you that you send new life every spring. And thank you, especially that You sent our Lord Jesus in whom we are saved and have eternal life! Amen.
