Moments of Praise

Our eight-year-old daughter started her piano journey almost a year ago. Having been given a spirit to overcome, she typically pursues things that are physically challenging. Piano allows her the chance to slow down. It centers her in the most beautiful way. In those moments, she is still and focused on what’s before her.
We all need those moments of tranquil worship — when our eyes are fixed and our hearts are centered as we submit a sweet sound of praise to the One worthy of it all. I can still hear a praise song I once played and sang:
I love you Lord.
And I lift my voice
to worship you, oh my soul, rejoice.
Take joy, my King…
in what you hear.
May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.
