One spring in the Midwest there was an abundance of silver maple winged samaras, or “helicopter seeds.” Last spring, because of a late frost, the flowers of the maple trees were frozen. Most of the silver maples did not produce any seeds and they are making up for it this spring. Now there is an abundance of them, so many that my niece’s trampoline was covered. So, the family had some fun and created angel wings out of them around her.
Looking closely, it seems like the wings are under her, as though they are holding her up.
“For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.”
Psalm 91:11 New Living Translation
God has several purposes for the angels He created. One is to shield us physically and another to guard us from the spiritual battle that is being fought every moment around us. Scripture says there are millions of angels, even more than the seeds in this picture, and that they fulfill God’s will and plans. Angels are not to be worshiped or idolized for they were created by God. Angels worship Him!
“Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.”
Hebrews 1:14 New Living Translation
There are many stories in the bible where God uses angels to keep His people safe. You are so loved as God’s child that He provides these guardians to keep you from harm! Give Him praise, honor and glory for His gift of angels that protect your life.
