The Opposite of Despair

My Hope Is in the Lord

It’s amazing how my outlook on the world changes when I worship. I can go from despair to hope while worshipping.

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5 English Standard Version (ESV)

“For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:10 ESV

Hope is more than a feeling. True hope is knowing how the story ends, that God has an answer to all the unrest and chaos in the world.

No matter what is going on in your life, God has more for you than what you see with your eyes. He has eternal life for us that starts now.

“But our citizenship is in heaven…” Philippians 3:20 ESV

We belong to heaven and the Trinity right now. This is a hope that no one can take away.

“What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Mark 10:9 ESV

God has connected Himself to us and nobody can break that bond. The peace that comes with the knowledge that no one can come between us and God is reassuring to me as I journey through life. At times I get caught up in the negativity of what’s happening in the world and it can get me down.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 ESV

God has overcome the world, we just don’t always see it. At times I can feel and experience the hope that He is here and has everything in His hands.

I’m including a link to a video that has given me a lot of hope. Every time I play the song, heaven drops to Earth and I experience God’s presence and peace. I pray that it blesses you.
