Jesus Is My Rock!
“Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.”
Psalm 71:3 English Standard Version
I desired to sit in one of these Adirondack chairs and watch the waves beat on the rocks; however, on the day I captured this photograph, the weather was cold and windy, with rain quickly approaching as is common along the Oregon Coast.
In the same way, I’m often too busy to meditate on Christ as the rock of my life. I’m attached to my watch that tells me I’m late “for a very important date.” It’s time for a doctor’s appointment, time to repair the dryer, time to go to the grocery store. And when I do sit in my “Adirondack chair” to think on Christ, I’m often distracted by the what’s coming.
Over the years I’ve visited Rockaway Beach, this rock formation has not changed. It looks the same every time I walk the sandy shore. Like waves, my life changes, yet God’s love never does. While balancing all my appointments that roll in and out of my life. God remains faithful and always will be.
He is my rock!
