We all have our idea of the perfect room. Social media is filled with beautiful photos of carefully designed spaces that look so perfect they hardly seem real. But every beautiful room requires work. Someone has to create the plan, choose the colors, paint the walls, arrange everything and keep it clean. Maintaining the perfect room takes constant effort.

We often treat our spiritual lives the same way. We work hard trying to create the perfect version of ourselves. We strive to be better, do better, and please God through our own efforts. We spend our days renovating, rearranging, and covering up the messes in our hearts.

Yet God, in His mercy, has given us the most beautiful room of all—the room of grace.

This room was purchased through the blood of Christ. It is a place where we are loved and forgiven before we have cleaned up our mess.

Every morning, God’s mercies are new. You may have felt trashed yesterday, but today God meets you with fresh grace. He wipes away yesterday’s dirt and invites you into a new day filled with His presence, guidance, forgiveness, strength, and joy.

The room of grace is not maintained by your striving. It is maintained by His love. Stop trying to earn a place in the room and place it in His hands. Let Him renovate what needs to be changed and remove what no longer belongs. Let Him transform you with His mercy.

You are His child, and He delights in filling that room with His blessings, peace, and love. And every morning when you open the door, you will find that His grace is waiting for you once again. This is the room where God invites us to live—not a room of striving, but a room of grace.
