It Is Good To Praise Him!

“Praise the Lord!  How good to sing praises to our God!  How delightful and fitting!”
Psalm 147:1 New Living Translation

This is a story of a baby grand piano that was loved and used well for many years and needed a new home.  And this is the crew that moved the piano to its new home where the Johnsons can love and use it well for many more years to come!  Imagine the music that will swell from this beautiful instrument, praise to God and joy in His goodness.

The Lord calls us to praise Him, that it is delightful and fitting to praise our God for all His marvelous deeds, for His love to us in creating us, redeeming us, and growing us in Him.  But sometimes it is difficult to praise the Lord because of setbacks and grief and difficulties and loss and sorrow and pain.

In the midst of the difficult times, we encourage one another to praise God both in the hard times and the good times.  And sometimes the wonderful gift of a piano is just what we need to praise Him!  How many times have I been encouraged by simply lifting up my voice and heart to God in one of the great hymns, praising Him for His love and faithfulness in Jesus Christ who loved me and gave Himself for me.

May the Lord be praised in every home and among every family and among every tribe and people and language and land!  May the praise of God’s people in worship defeat the darkness of the enemy and lift up our hearts to God our King and our Redeemer!  May the name of the Lord be praised from this time forth and forevermore!  Amen!
