Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

This bridge over the Missouri river appears secure and safe to traverse as it has for many years. The strong girders of steel seem invincible. But a bridge must also have a firm foundation which is not always seen from above. Without that strength, a flood, earthquake or poor workmanship might put every driver in peril as they travel across the bridge.
Every time it is crossed over, someone is trusting that it will hold up and not collapse into the river. We have seen bridges collapse and watched in shock at the horror of cars being crushed or people swept away by the water.
“Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem,
a firm and tested stone.
It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on.
Whoever believes need never be shaken.”
Isaiah 28:16 New Living Translation
Thankfully, we have a strong and mighty God who will never let us drown or be crushed by life’s circumstances. He has laid a perfect foundation and we know we can rest on His firm promises and Word to us.
If you are about to cross a bridge in your life that appears unstable, know that our Lord has you in His victorious right hand!
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 New Living Translation
