In a Bible study a group of women have been going through at Holy Cross, there’s a section on God’s glory that’s captivating. What exactly is God’s glory? It’s His very essence radiated. When scripture talks about God’s glory it is always connected to Him revealing Himself to us.

“God’s glory is the way He makes Himself recognizable.” – Beth Moore

God’s glory is hard to define. But one thing is clear, when it is revealed to us we fall before Him in awe, fear, and reverence.

The glory of God came to us meekly in an infant. Now as we gently lay down the celebrated Baby and follow the timeline into His adulthood this Epiphany season, we discover again Who this Christ is Who has come to us. We are asked to open our hearts anew to the wonder of His glory. Like the wise men of old, the only response to this revelation for those who have His Spirit is giving our all to Him and reflecting the Light of the Word into the darkness around us as we gaze upon His radiance.

God, in Your mercy grant us fresh eyes as we behold the glory of Your Son this Epiphany. Amen.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
