“Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days.
The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses.
Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers
and singing and joy!
The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon,
as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.
There the Lord will display his glory,
the splendor of our God.
With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands,
and encourage those who have weak knees.
Say to those with fearful hearts,
‘Be strong, and do not fear,
for your God is coming to destroy your enemies.
He is coming to save you.’”
Isaiah 35:1-4 New Living Translation

Israel was mourning the loss of her country, her people and her way of life. Isaiah was prophesying that Israel would one day be restored by God to her former power and splendor. Her enemies would finally be destroyed. Israel looked to God to save their nation and their people.

If you are feeling tired and weary, take comfort in these words, for God will return to restore His kingdom soon. Lean on His presence and soak in His words, for soon the Lord will display His glory to all mankind.

If you are feeling hopeful and joyous, give praise to your Lord and Savior today! Encourage those who are feeling anxious and afraid. Comfort those who are mourning. Share Christ’s love through His sacrifice with those who feel hopeless.

The Lord is loving, faithful, encouraging and powerful! He’s already won the victory! Sorrow and mourning will disappear and you will be filled with eternal joy and gladness. Praise the Lord!
