Don’t throw thankfulness out with the Thanksgiving leftovers.

“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.”
1 Chronicles 29: 10-13 New Living Translation
A week has passed since the celebration of Thanksgiving. The leftovers are most likely gone, the autumn decorations are put away, and Christmas is looming before us. Carols are playing on radio stations, Christmas sales are in every store, and Christmas trees light up the neighborhood.
While you may have left this year’s Thanksgiving festivities behind, don’t let thankfulness be a distant memory like summertime in this photo. Pray this prayer of thanksgiving that King David offered up. Affirm through praise that God is your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit is your guide. Keep giving thanks each day!
