Through Every Season

Finding Comfort in the One Who Never Changes

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8, English Standard Version

Early this morning, we turned our clocks back an hour. For some, that means the welcome gift of an extra hour of sleep. For others, it’s a reminder that the days are growing shorter, the evenings darker, and winter is just around the corner. Here in Colorado, the changing seasons are hard to miss. The brilliant colors of autumn gradually fade, leaves scatter across the ground, and the crisp morning air hints at colder days ahead. The world around us is changing, just as it always does.

And so are we.

Our lives move through seasons, too. Some are filled with joy, growth, and new beginnings. Others bring uncertainty, disappointment, or loss. Sometimes we welcome change with open arms. Other times, we’d give anything to hold on to the season we’re in just a little longer. But amid all this change, Hebrews offers a beautiful reminder: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” What a comfort those words bring in a world where so little seems certain!

The same Jesus who walked with His disciples, who suffered and died for our sins, and who rose victorious from the grave is the Jesus who remains with us today. His love doesn’t diminish when our circumstances change. His mercy doesn’t run out when we struggle. And His promises don’t expire when life takes an unexpected turn.We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who holds us. And unlike the fading light of autumn, the hope we have in Christ never grows dim. Tonight, when we notice the sun setting a little earlier, perhaps we can remember that while time moves forward and seasons come and go, our Savior remains the same.

Whatever season you find yourself in today, you are held by the One whose faithfulness never changes. Yesterday, today, and forever.
