How easy is it to forget how good and trustworthy God is? I think this is part of the value of having a community of people who will remind me about the goodness of God. This can be in a church building, but living intertwined with these people is even more impactful.
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6 English Standard Version
Sometimes we don’t have people around to remind us of how good God is or that He is calling to us to come directly to Him, on our own.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8 English Standard Version
Believing that God has the best intentions for our lives is critical as our plans are derailed or canceled. The current situation in our world has caused many good plans to change. The decision in how to respond is important for our mental health and faith. Coming back to the foundation that God is for us and has good plans for us can get us through difficult situations.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 English Standard Version
The next part of the verse above is important, also.
“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13 English Standard Version
God is communicating to trust Him, that His plan for us is not only good but best, but our part is to pray and seek Him out. He wants to have a very active relationship with us.
