“But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.”
Psalm 38:15 English Standard Version

Hundreds of children were lined up in eager, impatient anticipation of the signal.  It was so exciting to go into the field full of Easter eggs!  The children could hardly wait!

What are you waiting for in your life?  Are you waiting for healing of your body?  Are you waiting for the healing of a broken friendship?  Are you waiting for God to give you an answer to a burning question?

Waiting can be excruciatingly painful.  Imagine the waiting of Jesus’ followers on that long, long Saturday between Good Friday and Sunday morning.  Their prayers go up but it feels that there is no answer from God.  Would God hear their prayer?  Would God answer them, or had He forgotten them in their grief and pain?

The Lord did answer their prayers.  He answered their prayers in the most amazing and unforgettable way.  He answered their prayers with the resurrection of Jesus, of the gift of life forever in His rising.

Will God answer your prayers?  Yes, God hears and God answers.  He will not only give you what you need, He will do it in just the right timing and in just the right way.

Wait on the Lord.  Trust in His amazing love and His perfect timing and His often very surprising plan for your life.  Wait on the Lord.

Lord Jesus, I wait upon you in my often-impatient prayers.  I trust in your answers and your timing for my life.  Please assure me by your Holy Spirit that you know what is best for me.  Calm my anxiety and my fears.  Thank you for your great love and patience with me, Lord.  Amen.
