“… Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!””
John 20:19b New International Version
I love this song. Especially this verse…
“He lives to silence all my fears;
He lives to wipe away my tears;
He lives to calm my troubled heart;
He lives all blessings to impart.”
(“I Know That My Redeemer Lives” LSB 461)
In a nation filled with fears, tears, and troubles, we need hope. We need assurance. We need peace.
As death counts from the virus rise, as people grow more and more fearful and frustrated, we need Jesus. Although people may not know it, they need Him.
The disciples, huddled in an upper room after Jesus’ death on the cross, needed hope. They needed assurance. And they got a risen Savior.
He appeared to them through locked doors. He gave them peace. He gave them Himself. He gave them eternal life.
You need hope. You need assurance. You need peace. You need a risen Savior.
Put your trust in Him. Put your faith in Him. Put your troubles and fears and tears all in His hands. He died to set you free. He lives to give you eternal life.
Whatever may be ravaging you, eating at you, grieving you, He is the answer for all of it.
“I know that my Redeemer lives,
What comfort this sweet sentence gives,
He lives, He lives who once was dead,
He lives my ever living head.”
Amen! Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!
