“The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.”
Psalm 121:5 New International Version
Even though it is nearing the end of May, over a foot of snow blanketed much of Colorado. It was a heavy, wet snow that weighed down many newly leafed tree branches, breaking some of them.
Is something weighing you down today? Let this tree remind you of God’s strength and protection. The snow is weighing down this juniper, but the ground beneath the branches is free from the deep snow. Christ carries all our problems on His shoulders. As He protects our heavy heart we are under His grace, sheltered from the avalanche of the daunting burdens we live with every day.
It doesn’t matter where those weary loads and afflictions come from as they pour down on us. What matters most is the life-giving rain of blessings Christ provides as He watches over you. He protects you from everything that could crush your spirit and drown your joy. He restores your soul like He restores the earth after the rain and snow.
The moisture we received from this snow was a blessing, as we have been experiencing drought and fires across Colorado. If your soul is experiencing a drought and your hope feels dried up, know that relief is found in Christ’s comforting words that He pours out in prayer over you. Seek out strength through His refreshing words.
