Is it time for an attitude adjustment?

Part 1
I’m going through a season. I recently returned to work and have not especially enjoyed what I’m doing. I’m in sales, which is what I’ve done most of my career.
I really like the people I work with. The company is progressive with high quality products.
So, what’s the problem?
Business, as I have known it, is very transactional and ambitious. While neither of those is wrong or bad there has been very little room to merge into a deeper purpose. It’s become a dichotomy between the spiritual life and work life.
Somehow we’ve separated God and our beliefs from work.
So how can it be better? I thought I had just grown to hate business. What I’ve realized is sometimes you have to hate something, kill it, then resuscitate or bring it back to life in a better form.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.
Psalm 90:17
If God’s favor is resting on us and giving us work to do, shouldn’t he be involved in the movement and help us carry out our job? If we say He establishes work but kick Him out once we’ve gotten what we want that doesn’t seem to be quite right.
Before we go and think the next job is going to be ‘the thing’ or so much better than where we are, we may need to make an adjustment and see if it’s a change in our actions or mindset that could make the situation better.
The lens through which we view the world and life colors everything we do. I wonder if we just need to change the lens.
