Where our own abilities and efforts end, God can genuinely shine through us in a way that impacts those around us.

“It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.”
2 Corinthians 3:5 New Living Translation
When it comes to new opportunities, sometimes we feel as qualified as a cow trying to paint a picture. We want to do what God asks, but we feel we are lacking in what is needed to do it. Then we may start comparing ourselves to others, thinking that if only we had this skill or that gift, then it would be easier for us to accomplish it.
The truth is, we are all inadequate. God created us to depend on Him for everything. Alone, we are sinful people, capable of nothing good. We can’t do anything of value without Christ by our side. God never wanted us to all be the same. He has a completely different set of standards compared to the world’s list of what makes us valuable.
Realizing this should provide relief in not having to even try to be “enough” because God already has that covered. It’s His job, not ours, to be perfect. We are simply vessels He equips to show His love and faithfulness to a fallen world. People will always find disappointment in what we can offer them, but they will find God to be enough for their every need, want, and desire.
God makes it clear we all have different roles in the body of Christ, and we are never called to do anything alone. He uses our successes, failures, strengths and weaknesses to show His glory in our lives. God uses these to teach us more about Him, to show His mercy, and to encourage others as they find themselves unable to measure up.
Choose not to believe Satan’s lies that you are inadequate. Trust God’s truth and what He says about you. You ARE God’s masterpiece!
