Beyond Our Thoughts

There are moments where I think, “It wasn’t supposed to be like this.” I’m asking how and why, in a baffled state. In those times, this is often a verse that comes to mind.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version
Quite frequently in my life, I simply don’t understand. I try to wrap my head around the situation, but I’m stuck. Frustratingly, I just can’t see the whole picture. Through my narrow vision, I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I lose sight of hope when this frustration enters the picture.
But then I am reminded that Jesus alone is the anchor to our souls. He is the source of all our hope, even when we can’t see. Even when we don’t know or understand.
We can’t always understand. We don’t see all that He sees. We don’t know all that He knows.
But we do know that it is because He is far beyond all we can see and imagine. He is grand beyond our grasp. He is higher. He is infinite. He is all-knowing and all wise. It is a blessing that His thoughts and His ways are higher and greater than ours. Who better to trust and release our worries and doubts and questions to than the one who created us and redeemed us.
His love reaches beyond the heavens. His mighty hand is with us and beside us. He has plans beyond our wildest dreams and desires. Higher than the skyscrapers that we crane our necks to see, higher than the mountain peaks that reach toward the heavens, higher than the ocean waves and the clouds far above. His ways are higher, His thoughts are higher, and His grace is higher.
