“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
1 Corinthians 15:52 New International Version

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
Philippians 3:20-21 New International Version

Change is a sensitive subject. Some people love change and treat it like a dragon that needs slaying, while others would rather stay in bed and hide under the covers than face another change in their lives.

Maybe you are facing a decision you don’t agree with at work, discovering you can’t do everything you used to as you age, needing to uproot your lifestyle—these are all changes that can cause stress, anxiety and great concern. Even good changes can be tough as you navigate the emotions of beginning something new and unfamiliar.

But God promises that at the end of the age, when he returns to earth, we will all be changed.

One day we will all face the ultimate change that will transform us into more than we thought we could be. Our bodies will be transformed, just like God’s glorious body. Now, we have no idea on this earth what that will be like, but we take comfort in knowing that we will no longer face disease, decay or destruction. We will be perfect, living with our awesome God in an amazing place.

So don’t despair when earthly changes feel overwhelming or difficult. Soon, in God’s timing, you will be transformed into who you were meant to be without sin or pain. And that’s a change we can all live with.
