“Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.”
Revelation 19:11 New Living Translation
In John’s vision in Revelation, Christ is revealed as the supreme commander whose empire is heaven. His throne is unshakable. His power and authority are ordained and eternal. Christ rides a white horse, the color of a horse military leaders rode in ancient Rome, to show his absolute majesty, strength and victory that He won over sin and Satan by His death and resurrection.
He is named Faithful and True, for those are his divine qualities. While Satan is untrustworthy and treacherous, Christ is unwavering in His love and mercy. While Satan is the Father of Lies, Christ keeps all His promises and is always true to His word. He is holy and righteous.
One day we will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with glory and power, to take us back with Him, where He reigns for eternity in heaven. Until that time, our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy by all your people!
