Christ is the power over our sin, so we can live in that truth every day.

“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”
1 Peter 2:24 New Living Translation
Sometimes the bondage we feel because of sin inhibits us from living to the potential God has for us. We live as though He has not freed us from sin and given us new life in Christ. We fail to remember that Christ personally carried our sins in His body on the cross, healing us from the power of guilt and shame that Satan taunts us with constantly.
It’s true that we were dead in our sins. That’s why Christ came as a sacrifice for them. But we can’t continue to live like we are imprisoned by them and consumed by overwhelming darkness without hope.
God calls us His children and we are spotless in His eyes. He looks lovingly at us through the blood of Christ who conquered sin, so we can have a relationship with Him that wasn’t possible before His death and resurrection.
We are privileged to be called His children. We are deeply loved. We are chosen for a unique purpose to fulfill in God’s kingdom. We can’t achieve that purpose if we believe we are doomed to the bondage of sin each moment of our lives, instead of remembering who we are becoming in Christ as we serve the one who redeemed us. Live like you were dead to sin. Power over sin is real through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
“All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.”
