“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24 New International Version

I have a confession to make.  I love crossword puzzles.  Pictured above is the worn out and completed crossword puzzle book Pastor Bruce gave me.  That book went everywhere with me.  And I enjoyed every moment of doing those puzzles, the hard ones and the easy ones.  That book became like a trusted friend whom I could rely upon for challenge and comfort and fulfillment.

I realize that not everyone may love crossword puzzles, but I know that everyone needs a trusted friend.  Someone who goes everywhere with you, who is there at all times, who challenges and comforts you.  Who is that friend in your life?  Who is your constant companion who gives you joy?  Who is that person who never leaves you?

The answer of course, is Jesus.  Jesus is the Friend who will never leave you, the Comforter of your soul, the Way, the Truth, the Life.  He loves you unconditionally, not only when you are good and grateful, but also when you have sinned and are selfish and grumpy.  Jesus is Lord of the universe, but still always has time for you, day or night.

Do you know my Friend Jesus?  Do you know His love and peace and companionship?  Trust in Him for your salvation and put your faith in His mercy, and you will have a Friend for life, a Friend for eternity.  He is your best Friend ever!

“What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear,

What a privilege to carry,
Everything to God in prayer….”
