And the Power

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 New International Version

In the United States there are an abundance of power plants. About 40 percent of energy from all our resources is used for electricity, more than for any other energy type. For that electricity to come into our homes, it travels from power facilities to a high-voltage switchyard, to transmission lines, to a substation, to a distribution line, to a transformer, to your house. But there is always the risk of power outages.

If we want power for our spiritual lives, we don’t need to look far or worry about power failures. We have a direct line to God’s power, the Holy Spirit, at work within each of us. God’s means for accomplishing more than we can imagine comes through His strength. His work is done by the Holy Spirit’s power within us, rather than by our human strength. We are unstoppable to accomplish His will when we are filled with God’s power!

When we pray “For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen,” we acknowledge that He is the Sovereign ruler of His kingdom, the most powerful ruler ever in all the universe and beyond and the most glorious God and Savior! God’s love is inexhaustible and His vision for our lives and for the Church is always superior to ours. Give Him the glory for all He accomplishes with the Holy Spirit through you, His people and all generations!
