“While we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.” Titus 2:13
These two dogs never left the car window waiting for the food order to come. Their excitement at what they might get to enjoy was so intense, that they had to be pried off their spot so their owner could get his food when it arrived.
Is our excitement at Jesus’ return that passionate? Especially during difficult times we’d rather not face, or when we have pain we would rather not endure, we would love to see Christ return. But the love of life, family and earthly pleasures may sometimes distract us, diminishing our zeal for a heavenly home.
Thankfully, God is ever-present and powerful to keep our focus strong. We have a taste of what eternity will be like through His presence in us. He is faithful to keep us secure in Him no matter our circumstances.
On this earth we celebrate holidays, birthdays and other special events. When Christ returns, there will be a celebration more amazing than any you’ve ever had. You will be in the awesome presence of your risen Savior, the one who redeemed you, loves you and can’t wait to spend eternity with you in the place He has prepared just for you.
Such profound joy awaits us, more than we could possibly experience on this earth. Never lose your excitement and hope waiting for Christ’s return!
