Be the Light

Shine No Matter Where You Are

As THE church, where’s our place? We’ve heard how we are to be the light, but how do we shine that light on the world while we’re in quarantine or social distancing?

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5 English Standard Version

Locking into His presence one on one is a beginning. To be so full of the Holy Spirit that when the time comes for us to be let loose on the world we know exactly HOW to be the light and where. There’s two parts to the light: being filled with the light and letting it loose on the world.

Jesus understood where to shine His light. He only did what the Father was doing where the Father wanted him to do it. We do the same. We are made in the image of Christ and part of His journey here was to model what our relationship with God could look like.

“So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing.'”
John 5:19-20  English Standard Version

I’ve heard discussions where someone has said that Jesus didn’t heal everyone while He was here and that is true. But that’s not a reason to forego praying for people or to have a belief system that doesn’t leave room for healing.

How do we know what He’s doing and what we should in turn do? Pray, read the Bible, worship, have a goal to get to know God as well as He knows you. Use this alone time to get to know God and see yourself how he views you. Going deeper with Him is how we know how to shine our light and where.
