Painted rocks are turning up all over southern Colorado. This is becoming a popular trend, with over 43,000 members belonging to the #719 Rocks Facebook group. They encourage artistic expression, and spending time outdoors, through painting rocks and leaving them at random locations outside for others to find. The rocks can feature funny, inspirational, and beautiful artwork. Children, and adults alike, love to paint and hide them. For some, it’s a family adventure to conceal or discover them.

It was rewarding when I found this one. It was a charming experience that brightened my day.

You never know where you might find one.

“And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness— secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.”

 Isaiah 45:3 New Living Translation

As we go about our day, God often leaves us little blessings of encouragement…reminders of His love and assurance that our Lord has not forgotten us. Sometimes we are too preoccupied to notice the precious messages God sends our way.

However, when you seek Him out each day, He will make Himself known to you. In the good times of life, or in our struggles, He may send you a message through a friend, a special Bible verse, or something else that will remind you that He is God and calls you by name. It may even be even a painted rock, just to bring you a little joy. Be on the lookout for God’s special messages of His love to you.

“For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 New Living Translation

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.”

Psalm 103:2 New Living Translation
