“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 English Standard Version

Celebrating a birthday is a big deal!  Especially when you are Philip and your mom makes you an awesome Monster Truck birthday cake.  Oh, to be three again!

For a believer, every day is a celebration of our new birth, our birth in Jesus Christ.  No matter what you might be going through, you are declared a child of God, no longer held captive by sin or by the devil, but made new and whole in Jesus’ death and resurrection.  The old way of life with its condemnation and despair, its guilt and hopelessness, is gone.  The new life has been given to you and no matter what might attack you today, whether temptation or persecution, danger or pain, you have been given victory in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The old is gone, the new has come.  In Jesus Christ you are given forgiveness, salvation, joy, peace, endurance, hope, love, life.  Washed away are sin, condemnation, iniquities, and death.  In Jesus Christ you are a new creation, a child of the heavenly King, a redeemed saint made righteous in Jesus’ blood.

It is a great thing to celebrate a birthday.  How much greater still it is to celebrate our new birth in Jesus Christ.  Let the party begin!  Invite all your friends to celebrate also.  There is more than enough room at this party where all can be made new in Jesus!  Amen!
