“But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.”
Galatians 4:4 New International Version

It’s that time of year again.  Garlands and trees appear, stockings are hung by the chimney with care, lights are ablaze on homes, Christmas is coming!  And though children can hardly wait for the big day, at the set time, December 25th, the birth of Jesus will be celebrated and the greatest Gift of all will be revealed.

For God knew exactly the right time to bring forth His Son into the world.  In a world dark with sin and death, hopeless and in despair, God sent Jesus to redeem those under the curse of the law.  And those who were orphaned into eternal death and without a Heavenly Father were adopted into the family of God.  At just the right time God rescued us, redeemed us, adopted us into His forever family.

In this month of waiting for the celebration of the birth of the Savior of the world, our hearts thrill to know that God loved us so very much that He sent His Son into the world that all who would believe on Him would not perish, but have eternal life.  We thank God that He remembered us in His great love and sent His Gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord!

Thank you, Lord, for sending Your Son at just the right time to redeem this sinful world.  Fill our hearts with joy at the anticipation of the coming of Your Son.  Amen.

“How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is giv’n!
So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heav’n.
No ear may hear His coming; But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him, still The dear Christ enters in.”
