May God give us the power to understand the depth of Christ’s love for us.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Ephesians 3:16-19 New Living Translation

The vastness and depth of a lake can be deceiving. We can’t always see its boundaries, its sandy foundation or the creatures living below. We don’t know by sight how truly deep the waters are, nor do we know what treasures exist within. We know that when we look beyond the shoreline, it beckons us to go out on the water and experience the cool waves, absorb the sunshine and see the beauty of the trees reflecting on its surface.

As we increasingly trust Christ‘s love for us, we gradually comprehend how limitless His love is for us. So often we underestimate how far He will go to rescue us, hold us tightly to Him and bless us with His almighty love. Though we can never fully understand the depths of Christ’s love that led Him to die for us, we put our faith in His words and actions. As it strengthens our relationship with Him, it further inspires us to be an extension of our Father’s heart of grace and a reflection of Christ’s love to others.

May you experience the love of Christ in a deep, powerful way today.
