This blog post comes two days after Christmas, and to be clear, it isn’t meant to guilt or shame anyone. It’s a post to encourage.

What does it look like to worship Jesus outside of Christmas, Easter and Sundays? It is putting our hands in the air every day to reach toward the Creator of the Universe so He can fill us with His gifts of peace, love, and joy to activate the Holy Spirit in us. It is surrendering our garbage to receive His love.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God.” 1 John 4:7 ESV

If love is from God, connecting with Him everyday is how we receive love and give love.

Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but what about two-day-old Jesus or week-old Jesus? The birth is the beginning of His reign of his earthly life and is well documented, but the mysterious and non-documented life of Jesus as part of the Trinity was living long before His birth on Earth.

Every day should feel like Christmas. Our worship of Jesus, ideally, is endless.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 ESV

Here’s a warning: Constant worship cannot be accomplished without the help of the Holy Spirit. You will wear down if you try this without the Holy Spirit.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'” John 7:37-38 ESV

Drinking from the living water that the Trinity offers, which is actually the Holy Spirit, is the answer to staying refreshed and connected. Jesus invites us to come, not just at Christmas, but every day to drink from the water He offers. So drink, to refresh, and pour out everyday. This is a supernatural experience that God promises to all who believe in Him.
