Dusty but Loved

by Desiree Bustamante

We may be weak and dusty, but our Heavenly Father sees us with eyes of love.

“The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.”
Psalm 103:13-14 New Living Translation

Each new day we see and feel how fragile and weak we are, like dust in the wind. We spend a lot of time trying to hide that fact, so others won’t discover our vulnerabilities or our sin.

God knows our human weaknesses and is kind and merciful to those who love Him. He knows the depth of our dustiness and He accepts us when others might reject us. God’s love for us means that he does not abandon us in our limitations and sins. Rather, He looks upon us compassionately like a father with his own children. He sees us as we are through the eyes of Christ and knows who He is shaping us to become. He recognizes that developing and growing is a difficult process and He is patient and tender with us as we trust Him on our journey. It’s such a blessing to have a Heavenly Father whose love for us never changes and whose patience is astounding.

So, even as we acknowledge our limitations, our dustiness and our sin, we celebrate that God understands who we are, loving, accepting and forgiving us each step of the way.
