“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
Matthew 5:16 New Living Translation

Don’t you love a good art project that your child creates with glitter? All those sparkly colored rainbows or unicorns dancing across the page are magical—until it’s time to clean up. Even though you may think you have it all contained, there it is, shimmering on your clothes, your face, even on your pet. Weeks later a few sparkly flecks can still be found on a pillow or rug.  Glitter seems made to spread everywhere, sticking around for ages.

As beloved children of Christ, the Holy Spirit fills us with His presence and joy fills our entire being. We can’t help but radiate kindness, warmth, or a hopeful attitude to anyone near us. That incredible love of Christ that adheres us to Him so firmly can’t help but stick to others, just like glitter. You can’t wash the sparkle of hope and peace away.

Just as we are often dazzled by shiny things, Christ’s people are drawn to the radiance of His light living in us. Even those who do not know Him can sense the difference in a Christian’s attitude. So, scatter your glitter of faith and love everywhere with abandon to believers and non-believers alike! You are spreading bits of Christ’s light into the deepest darkness of this world, relying on the Holy Spirit to transform the hearts of everyone who needs God’s love.
