Encouraged to Encourage

by Desiree Bustamante

As we are encouraged, we are called to encourage others.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 New Living Translation

As we walk down our individual roads, it’s certain that we will come across difficult times. Even everyday life can be challenging. But God gives us beauty along the way to show us that He is near, that He cares about the details of our lives, that He wants us to be encouraged to keep pursuing the purpose He has for us. Encouragement from our Heavenly Father may take the form of a stunning fall day, or it might be through a kind gesture from a stranger, words of reassurance from a friend, or a whisper of love from Jesus. Look for those blessings God gives to sustain you through each day and know that they are messages of God’s grace and mercy to you.

And be that blessing to someone else. This world needs people like you to be encouragers. Build up another person through a thoughtful act of kindness. Speak words of love and inspiration to a friend in need. Never think that your words of comfort and faith carry no value—you are His chosen messenger of the hope found in Christ. God orchestrates your day to bring people into your life who need heartfelt words of healing and hope from Him. Don’t miss any opportunity to pour out God’s grace on others. You have been blessed to be a blessing!
