TAKE US HIGHER

“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:16-18 English Standard Version
The song “Glory to Glory” sung by William Matthews captures the idea and emotion of moving from glory to glory with God. (You can listen to the song by clicking on the link at the end of this post.)
Our transformation from one degree of glory to another is happening right now. We don’t have to wait. Because Jesus died and removed the burden of the law, we are free! It’s the cost Jesus paid on the cross that allows us to move freely into His ‘same image.’ There’s no end to God, so there’s no end to us going from glory to glory.
Fully describing God’s glory is impossible. It’s too mysterious. It is the weightiness and lightness of His presence, His love and wonderful kindness, the way He feels toward the human race. The glory is God’s love poured out; it’s His very nature. It can’t be separated from God because it is He.
We are to move higher and higher with God in His Glory, not staying in the “milk” but moving in rhythm with him toward “meat.” It advances our knowledge of God, but at the same time opens up the idea that we know only a sliver about Him. It truly is a mystery, and the more I know God, the more I appreciate His mysterious nature.
Moving from “glory to glory” is not a subject I’ve heard much about but have experienced it first-hand. Some aspects of God are difficult to learn about; they just have to be experienced.
My prayer for all of us is to go higher, to let the things of the world disappear as we move from glory to glory.
