His Love is in the Air

It’s NOT a lot of hot air.

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
John 13:34-35 New Living Translation

The Goodyear blimp often appears at special sporting events. It’s been around for years yet, when one flies overhead, many people turn out to see the rare sighting of this 246-foot, gas-filled aircraft.

When Jesus walked Jerusalem’s streets, He drew substantial attention. Even when He privately taught His disciples, huge crowds formed hoping to hear this man who declared himself the promised Savior of the world. At first many embraced His words, cemented by miracles He performed. The people had visions of victory over Roman oppression and Herod’s rule, longing for Israel’s restoration to its former glory and power. But, when they realized that was not what Jesus proclaimed, most rejected His message of eternal hope and life.

Though His resurrection proved He is the Promised One, many still walk away not understanding His words of truth. Yet they recognize something is missing from their life and constantly seek out ways to attain peace and purpose.

God has given you a unique mission field. Someone at work, school, the gym or anywhere you go is looking for truth. Some might already see you like the Goodyear blimp, wondering how you stay afloat in this world of anxiety, hatred and darkness. Along with His Word and the Holy Spirit, God blesses your actions that speak volumes about His love, leading souls to eternal life in Him.

Dear Lord, help me to truly see who needs to hear about You today.  Please help me to show love, mercy and kindness to all I encounter so that others will be drawn to what gives me peace—Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Amen.
