“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
John 15:15

Do you have a friend with whom you can share anything on your heart?  Someone with whom you can pour out your deepest fears and shame and hurt?  Someone whom you know will not laugh at you nor betray you nor look down on you when they know your deepest sins and pain?

If you have someone like that in your life you know what a great blessing they are.  And if you don’t have someone like that, don’t you wish you did?

Now imagine that you do have a friend like that, someone who is both so caring and so trustworthy that you can trust that friend even more than you trust yourself.  And then imagine that this friend is not only completely caring and trustworthy, but is also all wise and all powerful and has your back in every situation.

The friend you have just imagined is actually… Jesus.

That’s right.  The Almighty Son of God became a human being so that He could get close to you, closer than any human being could be.  And He is completely trustworthy and completely caring and all wise and all powerful.

And He wants to be your Friend!

He loved you so much that He died to take away your sins.  He demonstrated God’s perfect love by laying down His life for you even though He knows all about you with all of your sin and imperfections.

And all you have to do to have Jesus as your Friend is simply admit you need Him and ask Him to be your Savior and Lord and Friend.  What a Friend we have in Jesus, the very best Friend in the whole universe! Amen!
