The Bible contains plenty of verses concerning hiding. God sheltering us in his wings (Psalm 17:8) and Elijah seeking safety in a cave (1 Kings 19:9) are two verses which refer to different ways of hiding.

There are also verses concerning the things God hides from us, waiting for us to find them.

“It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.”
Proverbs 25:2

In the picture, my daughter found a single flower hiding under a plant. She was fascinated with the flower, and how it was alone and hidden. It seemed like a special treasure to find this flower. Each time we went to this location, she wanted to look for the flower. She never wanted to pick it, rather, she wanted to preserve it.

When God shows us something, it could be a part of Him we didn’t know intimately or information that only He knows. We also need discernment concerning what to do with this knowledge. Using the flower as an example…do we pick it, or preserve it? Do we share it, or store it in our hearts?

He loves us so much that the more we get to know Him, and trust Him, the more He can trust us with the hidden things.
