Hidden Messages

Hunting for God’s truths

I have kids. Kids that love me. But there are times they don’t like me. They say things that aren’t thoughtful and kind, especially if I need to ‘parent’ them.

Some of my kids have been fascinated with invisible ink. It is exciting for children to write messages that only they and another person understand.

The picture I posted is a message from one of my daughters on my bathroom mirror. I only see it when the shower fogs the mirror. I love it! It reminds me that no matter what, we are committed to one another. No matter the mistake or perceived failure, we love one another.

God hides things from us, but now that we are His sons and daughters, we go on a hunt to find them.

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a thing.”
Proverbs 25:2

The secret messages from God are meant to be hunted, sought after. This ride with Him should be the most exciting and fun adventure we’ve ever signed up for. If it’s boring then we may need to have a moment of discovery with the Holy Spirit.

The disciples were never bored. Their faith walk was constant excitement. Thrill seeking is not the goal of the relationship with God, it’s the result.

He still speaks to us today. If we are looking for answers to problems, look for the hidden messages, the whispers. Listen for what He is telling us, only us.

The intimacy we are desiring that can’t be found in the world is waiting for us to stop and surrender and listen.
