“Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.”
Isaiah 33:2 NIV

We have fallen far from God. We have not pursued Him in love. We have not treated our neighbors with love. We have gone astray time and time again. We need a Savior. In desperation, we know how far we have fallen away from who we were created to be. We desperately long for Christ. We need Jesus with our very being.

When we rise, we call for God’s strength to face the day. We call for God’s strength to stay on course, to remain in His love, to renounce temptations.

Life can be challenging and hope can seem far away in times of distress.

We have a Savior who comes to our rescue. He already paid the ultimate price. The price that gave us eternal life. The price that gave us the promise and hope that no matter what we face in this world, there is far better to come in the life to come. We have this hope to cling to when all else seems to fall apart. God has given us His Spirit in all that we face. We are never alone.

In times of distress we can lean into our Perfect Savior, knowing the hope we have in salvation. Each morning we can lean into our steady rock who grants us the strength we need to face each day.

“In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’”
Isaiah 25:9 NIV
