There is nothing broken that God can’t repair.

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”
2 Corinthians 4:7-9 New Living Translation
If you’ve ever seen children whack a piñata with a large stick, you’ve known the aftermath of the damage done to the papier-mâché creature. Even after it gets cleaned up, a few small bits of tissue paper linger on in the yard or carpet.
We’ve all experienced the roughness of getting knocked about by some experience in life. Whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, it can leave us feeling beat up and alone.
Picking up after a destroyed piñata is messy. We are messy inside, too, but Jesus doesn’t require us to clean up after ourselves first before we come to Him. He asks us to seek Him for healing, just as we are.
Maybe you don’t think there’s enough glue in the world to repair what’s been broken inside of you. Maybe you don’t see how anything good can come from the pain you feel right now.
Yet like a piñata, there is goodness to be found inside. Just as children rush to get the candy once the piñata has been broken, God rushes in to restore all of you—heart, mind and soul. And since He dwells in you, He will hold you together with His words and the healing power of the Holy Spirit.
A broken piñata may not be repairable, but God can repair you and even use your experience to fill you up with strength, courage and peace, then use that experience to bring hope to someone else’s broken heart. His might is formidable and can overcome any fears, anxiety or sadness. God can restore your hope and He will pour new life into you, because He lives in you and loves you always.
