“On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.”
Psalm 145:5 English Standard Version

“Ever since the creation of the world [God’s] eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made” (Romans 1:20).  Oh, the glory and majesty of our Lord, evident in the wonder of his creation.  Mt. Washington towers above and is reflected in the waters of Big Lake in the central Oregon Cascades. One wonders with the Psalmist, “what is humankind that you should take note of him?”

Wherever you are today, be sure to look up, or around, or even down.  Note the wonder of God’s creation, great, mighty, small and intricate.  Perhaps you have access to a telescope, or a microscope.  Every layer of creation is replete with the Majesty of our God.  Even the quiet of a summer walk, the back country sings of the majesty of the Lord.

What are we that God should take note of us?  Wait, you say, he does more than take note of us.  He loves us.  He saves us.  He sent his Son Jesus to the Cross and Tomb for humankind.  The Majestic God, the God of the mountains and lakes and summer quiet that sings, died for us and rose again for us that we may be filled with wonder.  With awe.  With songs of praise.  With celebration of his majesty.

God walks with us in the world.  “Lo,” Jesus said, “I am with you to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).  May the Holy Spirit lift your spirit today.  May he fill your eyes and ears with wonder at the majesty of our God.  May your heart swell within you as your spirit soars in praise to your living God.  Remember to look up.  Remember to look around.  Remember to look down.  Remember to take a walk.  How majestic is his name in all the earth.  And in your soul.
