God is faithfully shaping, molding and refining us until His work in us is complete.
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Philippians 1:6 New Living Translation
These balls of tortilla dough have been mixed and shaped loosely into balls, but they are not yet finished. Before they can become actual tortillas, they must be rolled out and placed over high heat to be transformed.
In much the same way, Scripture reminds us that we are a work in progress. God is continually shaping and refining us, and His work in us will not be complete until Christ returns. As we journey through life, we are called to grow in spiritual maturity, seeking God’s will and asking Him for wisdom, understanding, and discernment.
Often, that growth comes through trials. Just as tortilla dough must be exposed to heat before it becomes what it was intended to be, God frequently uses difficult seasons to refine our faith and draw us closer to Him. In those moments, we learn to depend not on our own strength, but on His power, grace, and provision.
God desires a full and abundant life for His children. As we surrender to His transforming work and become more like Christ, we experience the joy that comes from knowing Him more deeply and walking in His purpose for our lives. Each step of growth brings us closer to the day when His work in us will be complete.
So take heart. As you continue your journey with Christ, know that He is faithfully at work within you. Day by day, He is helping you grow in faith, love, and nearness to Him, preparing you for the glorious day when you will be His finished masterpiece, standing before Him in heaven.
