Not Our Time

It’s God’s time that counts.

“For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.”
Ecclesiastes 3:3-8 New Living Translation

Ever hear anyone say, “If only I had more time!” This clock appears to have stolen extra time from somewhere. This time warp is only science fiction though. We get 24 hours in a day and often feel that it’s not enough or sometimes feel that the day will never end. We forget it’s not our time, it is the Lord’s time. He created time and He created us. God asks us to use His time wisely for His kingdom’s purpose—to share the Good News of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

It’s a full-time job. We can’t do this alone. We are blessed that God gives us His Word, His Spirit and His presence to fulfill His plan in our lives. God wants us to believe Him, worship Him and rely on Him 24/7. Trust Him with your time in every season of your life.

“What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:9-11 New Living Translation
