Out with the Old, in with the Same

New puppies are fun. They are cute and cuddly, full of energy and love. But you must be prepared for their unpredictability. One minute they are playful and the next minute they might be chewing up your shoe.

2020 is finally over. People throughout the world couldn’t wait until that year ended and the new year of 2021 arrived. But nothing magical happened at midnight as it does in fairy tales. The truth is that we can’t predict what will happen this year, either. No amount of dread or worry will change the future. We wake up facing the same reality but with the hope of new and better days ahead.

“This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
     he is my God, and I trust him.”
Psalm 91: 2 New Living Translation

The one certainty of each moment is that the love of Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, will always stay the same. We just celebrated the birth of his Son as proof of that love. It will never change! Not today or tomorrow or in the months ahead. His mercy and strength will always protect us. His forgiveness and peace always calm our fear and anxiety. Every single day.

Come closer to Him! He is your rock, your strength, your rescuer. Approach him with confidence. He is in control of 2021. Choose to trust God every single day. He is the only one who can fill your soul with overwhelming joy and your heart with flawless peace.

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 New Living Translation
