Things aren’t Always Clear

“Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.” Isaiah 46:9-10 English Standard Version.
Do you ever find yourself in a position where you think to yourself, “if only I knew the outcome,” or maybe you want the answer to something that happened to you and you just can’t understand why? We have all been there.
We are not God. None of us are perfect, and none of us are all knowing. Individually we are one of billions of people who inhabit the earth, and we follow and precede many more. Since we are not omniscient beings, each of us must walk through life unable to see the whole picture, unable to fully grasp the events of the past, present and the uncertain future. Sometimes this is a daunting reality that each of us have to accept and live with.
Where do we go from here? How do we find peace as an imperfect being? Where do we turn to knowing that we have very little control over the world around us, let alone over our own lives? Lucky for us, we have an omniscient, all powerful, all knowing God who has complete control over the universe. God has let us know time and time again throughout the Scriptures, and in our own lives, that by His will alone this world is upheld. His purpose, and only His purposes, will ultimately be fulfilled. Death and evil may run rampant among us here on earth, but it cannot last forever. Death has been defeated by Christ’s death on the Cross.
So while our lives are lived partly cloudy, we can rest assured that God’s perfect plan, and his reign, will illuminate this world and the entire universe for all eternity. Thanks be to God!
