Jesus loves me, this I know. But how do I know? Yes, the Bible tells me so, but is that enough? I struggled with this idea for most of my life. I finally decided to jump off the cliff and dive into a relationship with the Trinity. Now I know. But it has been a process of a lot of trial and error.

One of the ways that I finally understood God’s love for me was letting Isaiah 43 settle into my marrow and become part of my DNA.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
Isaiah 43:1-2 English Standard Version

“Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you;”
Isaiah 43:4-5 English Standard Version

These verses, along with many other experiences, have cemented my resolve and relevance in God. But this is not just about me, it’s also about you. God created all of us in unique ways, in His image, to connect with Him and reflect Him in a way that no one else can. But our first step is to receive His love. When we receive love from God then we can go into the world and let others taste and see.

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!” Psalm 34:8 English Standard Version

As we realize our relevance in God by tasting and seeing how good He is, we can invite others to do the same. Modeling God’s love is the most powerful discipleship tool we have as Christians.
