He Sees All in the Darkness

Trusting God’s plan when we can’t see it is daunting.

“Praise the name of God forever and ever,
    for he has all wisdom and power.
He controls the course of world events;
    he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the scholars.
He reveals deep and mysterious things
    and knows what lies hidden in darkness,
    though he is surrounded by light.”
Daniel 2:21-23 New Living Translation

It’s like this giant rooster trying to hide in tall grass. He may think he is hidden, but everyone can see him.  We may think that God is hiding from the problems of this world and sometimes from us. Even though we know He is God, we doubt His goodness when what we see each day is the dreadfulness of war, famine, mass shootings and severe sickness.

Yet God knows everything that is hidden in the darkness. Evil cannot hide from Him. He is in control of world events, even what happens in our own communities and our homes. He is still the light of the world and, when we look for His goodness, we will always see it. Even if we don’t understand or comprehend the total picture or God’s complete plan.

Don’t let the wickedness you see today overtake your mind or disrupt the peace in your heart. Pursue His wisdom and seek out the promises of God in His word that show you He will always be with you, keep you safe and provide for your every need. You will always be surrounded by light in this corrupt world. You may not see His purpose in the deep and mysterious events, but He’s had one since the creation of the earth. God alone has the power to conquer evil. And remember, when this all ends, He wins!
