“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-15 English Standard Version (ESV)

We climbed the Manitou Incline. It is a single trail, consisting of over 2,700 steps with a 2,000 foot gain in elevation from start to finish. One doesn’t get lost on this trail, as it is a single flight of steps, so there aren’t many signs along the way.

However, someone painted the words “KEEP GOING” on a support post near the top. By the time you’re here, you’ve climbed over 2,000 steps, your leg muscles are burning, and it’s slow climbing for many to the final step. Someone thought these words might encourage a weary hiker to get through those last painful steps.

God gives us the Bible to encourage us to keep going through life.

It is our source of encouragement and hope when we are weary. It is filled with instruction on living in a God-pleasing way. The Bible has advice for everyday situations, poems that evoke a myriad of feelings, and love letters from God to us. We read, throughout the Bible, how God loved us so much that he sent Jesus to save us from our sinful ways.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

Follow the signs and instructions in the Bible and you will never get lost.
