“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:7
English Standard Version (ESV)

I’m not sure what motivated a person to change a ONE WAY sign to read ONE DAY? My husband and I were heading home from a Colorado Rockies baseball game when we noticed the sign, and I hurriedly snapped a photo with my phone as we drove past.

We talked about the sign, and reflected on Jesus being the ONE WAY to eternity with God (John 14:6), and that ONE DAY we would experience that eternal joy. It was some time later, when I noticed that the photo showed the sign pointing to a tree.

God’s Revelation to St. John describes his vision of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, when Jesus returns. Words cannot begin to describe its glory, but John gives us an idea in chapter 22.

Then the angel showed me … the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Revelation 22:1,3-5 ESV

Imagine a world where the nations and peoples are reconciled, where death and pain are gone, and where Satan no longer has sway on our lives! That day can’t come quickly enough.

Jesus promises that he will return soon, and on that ONE DAY, there will be only ONE WAY to eternal paradise.
